On-Page SEO Checklist

What's inside

The checklist is grouped into eight short sections, so you can work through a page from top to bottom:

  • Search intent and keyword: a single main topic for each page, a format that suits the search, and no two pages competing for the same term.
  • Title tag and meta description: unique, readable on a phone and free of repeated keywords.
  • Headings and content: a single H1, scannable subheadings and an opening that answers the main question.
  • URL, links and images: clean URLs, descriptive anchor text, compressed images and useful alt text.
  • Trust, conversion and technical basics: who wrote or stands behind the content, one clear next step, indexability, canonical tags and mobile layout.

Who it's for

Business owners, marketers and content editors who publish or update pages and want a consistent standard without needing an SEO specialist on every page. It suits service sites, online shops and blogs alike.

How to use it

Print a copy or keep it open beside your editor. Tick each item as you confirm it, and treat anything you can't tick as a task for that page. Start with the pages that bring in the most enquiries or sales, then work outwards. The technical items may need a quick look in Google Search Console or a word with your web developer.
